ATESS Collaborates to Transform Suvarnabhumi Airport into Thailand's First Green Airport

2024-03-26 10:52:36

Suvarnabhumi Airport, under the management of Airports of Thailand (AOT), is undergoing a remarkable transformation into Thailand's first green airport, with ATESS as a key partner.

AOT has initiated a pilot program to introduce electric taxis for passenger services, including the installation of charging stations for member electric taxis. This initiative aims to promote sustainable transportation in Thailand and contribute to the development of a low-carbon society. In the first phase of this initiative, AOT has installed ATESS-authorized EV Anywhere charging stations which were 16 sets of EVD-40S/D and 2 sets of REVO EVD-150D in the long-term parking area, Zone E.

To support present and future electric vehicle taxi services, the airport is installing 12 sets of 150kW/360kW ATESS superfast DC chargers-REVO EVD150/360D. These will cater to shuttle buses, public service buses, central buses, and all the other kinds of buses in operation.

By the year 2024, Suvarnabhumi Airport aims to have 1,000 electric taxis in operation. The airport strives to become an "environmentally friendly airport" or "green airport", achieving organizational stability and sustainable development. AOT is committed to conducting business responsibly under the principles of good governance, considering social and environmental factors. AOT manages six major airports in Thailand and aims for all six airports to gradually transition to electric vehicles, especially at airports. The adoption of electric vehicles is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 50%, equivalent to millions of ***s annually.

ATESS is honored to be a part of this pioneering project, which is aligned with Thailand's ecological goals and demonstrates our dedication to sustainable development.
